This page contains the complete terms and conditions applying to my trading on Ebay. Use the index below to locate the section you're after:

    General

  • - Items are offered for sale by Craig Dewick purely in a personal capacity using the Ebay user-ID of 'sunrk' which has been registered with Ebay since August 2000. (see the note below).

  • - In order to purchase any of my items that are made available for sale through Ebay, you must first of all be (or become) a registered member of Ebay.

  • - If you have a feedback rating that is negative, I reserve the right to refuse to sell you an item that you are the winning bidder on without first researching the reason why your feedback rating has fallen below zero. If you genuinely wish to bid on an item I am selling and your feedback rating is negative, please contact me before bidding [Note that the email address is 'poisoned'].

  • - A successful bid, or an auction or Shop listing where the buy-it-now facility has been used, becomes a LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT OF SALE. If you win or accept the offer to purchase one or more of my items and do not complete the sale, you may be permanently blocked from bidding on any of my future auctions. Please read my feedback and non-paying bidder policy section below for related information.

  • - If you are the winning bidder in one of my Ebay auctions, and you elect not to complete the transaction for any reason whatsoever, I will use Ebay's unpaid item process to encourage you to come to the party so-to-speak. As an alternative, should you decide not to complete a transaction you can opt to pay a non-negotiable fee of A$50 plus Ebay's listing and final-value fees into my Paypal account.

  • - The currency for all my auctions is Australian dollars. Quotes for shipping, etc. will also be given in Australian dollars (there are no exceptions!) where required. See the payment and shipping sections for more info.

  • - Handling fees of A$3 per A$100 of final item value apply to all sales and are included in any shipping quotes provided in listings or on request, otherwise the amount is added to the total you need to pay. Large/unusual/bulky items may be subject to higher handling fees depending on what needs to be done to prepare them for shipping.

  • - All items are sold strictly as-is with no warranty expressed or implied unless an item is new and I am able to directly honour the manufacturer's warranty.

  • - All items are guaranteed against being DOA (ie. Defective On Arrival) when they are listed for sale in any type of pre-determined functional condition, however once a package is handed to the chosen carrier, they become responsible for any transit damage. See the shipping section for more info.

  • - All other items which are sold without their functional condition being determined are NOT guaranteed against being DOA, however every care will still be taken to ensure the items are packed appropriately.

  • - If you have any questions at all, please contact me by email, and read these terms and conditions, BEFORE you bid (note that the email address has been 'poisoned' to prevent email harvesting)

    NOTE from above: SRK Science and Technology Research (trading as Sun Ripened Kernels, aka 'SRK'), was a commercial sole-operator business from 1996 to 2006. Due to changing marketplace conditions, and changing family/workplace circumstances (not to mention a growing family and mortgage on a house!), SRK has ceased operation from January 2007.

    Prior to cessation of commercial business activity, SRK was registered for GST and SRK's ABN was 94 480 125 814.

    Payment

  • - If you are located within Australia all sales are deemed to include 10 percent GST in the final value of the item. A tax invoice will be provided. Our Australian Business Number is 94 480 125 814.

  • - All non-cash payments must be completely cleared into my bank account before anything will be shipped.

  • - All transactions are subject to shipping and handling fees in addition to payment for the item(s) you have won, with the exception of items that are picked up directly from me, when there is only the handling fee. See the general section above.

  • - Payments are accepted in Australian dollars only.

  • - If you decide to pay using cash (including Australia Post money orders), you can ask for a 5 percent discount off the item price only - the discount does not apply to shipping and handling charges). If cash payment is agreed upon and some other payment method is used instead, you will have to send me the remainder of the total price or forfeit the right to purchase the item.

  • - If you are a currently financial member of APANA (you must provide membership evidence to be verified), you will receive the discount regardless of how you pay.

  • - If you're a winning bidder located in Australia, direct deposits or online transfers (ie. EFT) into my bank account are the preferred form of payment. If you would like to pay for an auction by direct deposit or EFT, you can use Ebay's Bank Deposit Express feature to securely access my bank account details, otherwise I can email them to you.

    I also accept payment by Paymate Express, cheque, Australia Post money orders and cash. Note that from the end of 2006, the Australian Bankcard scheme will cease operating and from January 2007 those cards will no longer be accepted for payments.

  • - If you're a winning bidder located outside Australia, payment via PayPal or Paymate Express is preferred. Unfortunately, wire transfer payments cannot be accepted due to Ebay Australia's prohibition on allowing sellers to pass on the unique costs of accepting this payment method to buyers!

  • - Any items you win or decide to purchase using a buy-it-now facility must be paid for within 28 days after the listing has ended.

    If your payment is not received within this timeframe, I reserve the right to use Ebay's unpaid-item process to achieve a successful result. If an item still remains unsold then you will forfeit your right to buy the item and I may re-list the item if I decide it's in my best interests to do so. Please also see my feedback + non-paying bidder policy below.

  • - The winning bidder of an auction is required to pay all shipping costs as well the final selling price of the item(s) concerned before the item(s) will be shipped, along with any handling fee if shipping has been negotiated after a listing has ended and no shipping quote was provided or requested beforehand.

  • - Australia Post has a weight limit of 20 kg gross for all parcels, and for parcels shipped within Australia there is a maximum girth limit of 140 cm. Any item that will, when packed, result in a parcel exceeding those limits cannot be shipped with Australia Post.

  • - Shipping options for Australian bidders include regular surface mail, registered mail or Express Post (all provided by Australia Post), and Pack and Send. COD may also be available on-request (for surface mail only) to you if you meet certain criteria - see my COD policy for more details.


    Pack & Send Very large, bulky and/or fragile items which cannot (or should not!) be shipped with Australia Post will require courier delivery, the costs for which are highly variable. All such items will be shipped with Pack & Send who provide both packaging and freight forwarding services, unless you have an account with a different courier and arrange shipping yourself. You can contact the nearest Pack and Send store to me at Liverpool, NSW on 02-9822-4733 (+612-9822-4733 if you're outside Australia) if you want to inquire about their services.

    Non-bulky items with a value exceeding $500 will only be shipped using Australia Post's Registered Mail service, and will be insured unless you specify otherwise (and accept the liability for uninsured shipping). These additional costs must be paid along with the cost of the item(s) before any high-value domestic shipment will be despatched.

  • - COD policy: For winning bidders located in Australia, if you nominate COD for shipping and we have not had successful dealings before, I will not send your item(s) using COD unless your overall feedback rating is +25 or more, and you have less than 1 percent of negative feedback.

    Note that COD is not recommended for items under $100 in value as the Australia Post charges for their COD service are prohibitive.

  • - Shipping options for international bidders include regular airmail (no insurance!), EMS (insurance available), or Pack and Send.

    Very large, bulky and/or fragile items which cannot (or should not!) be shipped via the international mail system or which I cannot pack myself will be shipped with Pack and Send without exception.

    I can provide shipping quotes for various options. All shipping and handling costs must be paid before any international shipment will be despatched.

  • - International bidders are required to pay any customs charges relevant to their country if the shipment is inspected at the point of entry.

    Special Notes for Reserve Price Auctions

  • - Auctions with a reserve price may be re-listed if the final bid does not meet the reserve, and the highest bidder does not express an interest to negotiate a sale within 72 hours (ie. 3 days) of the auction in question closing.

  • - If you want to know what the reserve price for any particular auction is, you're always welcome to ask me (note the 'poisoned email address), and if I think you're genuine, I'll give you a range within which the reserve price has been set.

  • - I will not reveal the actual reserve price until after an auction is completed, assuming the item(s) in question has(have) not sold.

    Feedback and Unpaid Items

  • - Ebay's Feedback system overview contains a complete description of how Ebay feedback works. Please make sure you understand how it works and why Ebay feedback is a fundamental part of building good a trading reputation!

  • - If you are a winning bidder of one of my auctions, or you have decided to use a buy-it-now facility, I will try to contact you (unless you contact me first) within 7 days to arrange payment, shipping, etc.

  • - If you complete a sale within 28 days and there are no outstanding issues at that time, positive feedback will be left for you. If you complete a sale after 28 days but within 42 days, neutral feedback may be left for you instead.

  • - If no contact is received within 7 days (either directly initiated, or in response to emails sent by me), Ebay's unpaid item process will be used to encourage you to complete the sale.

  • - As an alternative, should you decide not to complete a transaction you can opt to pay a non-negotiable fee of A$50 plus Ebay's listing and final-value fees into my Paypal account.

  • - Once you receive your item(s), and you're satisfied with them, it would be appreciated (although it's not mandatory) if you leave some positive feedback for me. 8-)

  • - If you do not complete a sale (subject to the outcome of Ebay's unpaid item process), negative feedback may be left for you at my discretion, in addition to (but not directly connected with) Ebay's system recording an unpaid item strike against your Ebay membership record.
