Account Login Confirmation Scam - Initial Email Received on Wednesday, February 18, 2004
This type of email is designed to steal your Ebay account login details - be careful!
On Wednesday, February 18, 2004 an email message was received claiming to be legitimate Ebay correspondence. It quickly became clear that the message was a fake when I noticed the URL provided did not go to an Ebay machine, but quite clearly went to a totally different site.
You should never believe emails asking you to log into a particular site to confirm your login details. All such emails are trying to do is enter your login details into a database which is used to perpetrate criminal activity such as money laundering, etc.
It's a common trick used by organised crime syndicates to obtain otherwise legitimate information to use as a smokescreen for illegal activities.

This type of email is designed to steal your credit card details - be careful!
On Monday, March 1, 2004 an email message was received claiming to be legitimate Ebay correspondence. It quickly became clear that the message was a fake when I noticed the URL provided did not exist at Ebay's site, the real URL was at a fake site and is hidden by the HTML encoding, and the headers showed the message had not come from Ebay.If you haven't done so yet, have a read for yourself and see what you think...
